B44 seems to be the buggy everyone gets thses days, you should go with what you can get parts for. the CAT SX is great, drives awesome! very quick too. they look trick with all the shiny bits too

The Tamiya TRF 501X is very strong and reliable. It is very easy to drive fast and will run well on any track. It requires a little more diff maintenance than the others due to the open design. I ran my 501x for two seasons indoor dirt and only broke 1 ball stud and 1 front shock shaft. The car is built like a tank.

Kyosho Lazer FS is something to consider as well. It may not be as pretty as the other all carbon buggies, but it is super durable and drives great.

If I were buying 4WD 1/10 it would be the B44 for no other reasons other than their RC8(T) platform is solid, the RC10(TB)4 is solid and the B44 is no exception.

the b44 is great cuz parts are available in many places. the 501x we is strong and smooth because it's a belt drive. the 501x usually wins at our track for club racing.

I would look the Kyosho cars. FS if you like saddle pack but the SP can run stick pack lipo's as well!

+1 and i have driven them all.

I say go FS or SP.

The 501x ain't bad i just felt it steered to aggressively and is uber expensive. Plus the diff's get dirty.

the b44 likes to chassis slap and isn't bad but the shocks are crap and the the quality just isn't on par anymore with th japs. The front shock shafts are very exposed to damage on that car too.

DO NOT let this get in the way of buying a Tamiya 501X! There are adhesive diff covers from JAAD Racing and Tamiya that keep the diffs VERY clean and long lasting. The car is very reliable as everyone else is saying also.

There is not a bad 4WD out there IMO. Some just have better parts support than others and why you typically see more Associated B44s, Kyosho ZX-5s and Losi XXX-4s than Yokomo MR-4BXs, Tamiya 501Xs, new Schumacher Cat SXs, etc.
