CVD's over dogbones

My B4RS came with dogbones, what advantages will CVD's have over dogbones if i get a set?

CvD`s offer better forward traction

Dog bones offer more side traction

Wild Cherry, can you explain the theory behind why that is?

How does the style of axle change the forward and side traction levels?

Wild Cherry 12-29-2008 09:18 AM

Dog bone bind less when rotating though the turn , delivering more side traction ..
The same play between the bones and drive axles produces less forward bite....

also

dog bones rotate smoother with on-power steering, less hook than a CvD...

This due to when a CVd spins it tries to straighten out or go flat and straight. That can make the car hook on power when turning and accelerating..

So, there are actually advantages to having dogbones as opposed to CVD's? I thought CVD's were always the better all-around choice.

not like one is better than the other , just another tuning option ...
