RC18/XP2 heat!!
I got a reply saying that if you cant touch the motor for more than three seconds, it'll burn out. I just got another stock motor and ran it for a few laps at full trottle. i still can't touch the motor for over three seconds without ending up with a first degree burn 
...
it had the same problem before it burned, should i get a heatsink?

I own an RC18T. The stock motors, as well as any motor, get quite hot in these little cars. A fan would not be a bad idea. I run an excelorin 6Kv motor with a Tekin Mini Rage. The motor can easily hit 150 degrees after 5 mins of racing. A fan is a good idea to keep temps down. Check this out.

These are quite compact and the price can't be beat. Just gotta figure out a mount one in the car. Gonna order a few for my cars to try out.
