Voltage cut off. Other than that let the big dog eat!

@Randy

Went home and played with HotWire, from Timing Profile 1-5, the RPM slider bar is not present. Once you get to "C1" the slide bar appears. Verified, as you can see in the screen shot that this is 223

Screen Shots of 2.23 Timing Tab

Also, V223 RX8 Programming HotWire 8.4.1 VEGAS Evolution RX8 2.23 Software User Information Guide

Shows this for the throttle with 5 columns

What I have showing are 4 columns, with the "Throttle Profile" under the "Curves" tab, which is basically included under the "Throttle" Tabe, but now has its own tab as shown in the screen shot below

Uninstall tekin hotwire through add and remove programs.
-Delete all browsers cache files.
-Download tekin hotwire again.
-then re-install.

It is important to delete cache. it can cause you to get the same errors over and over.
On this laptop i had to do those following steps twice running windows 7. worked first try on my old laptop on vista. and on my gf's laptop on 7. but this one had issues.

hope this helps

Does your Hot Wire have the same information? I didn't download a previous version so there should be no issue with the cache. If I'm showing an older version, and I'm not sure what that one looked like I can re-install it. Appreciate the clarification.

To check to see if you have the current Hotwire software, simply plug in ONLY the hotwire into your pc, launch the software, hit the "help" button and read the version. The most current is 8.4.1

First check what randy typed. and if you do have the most current version you'll have to do what i said. sometimes files F up when you download them. it happens. so you have to delete all the files. then delete the old cache, then re-download. i had a issue when trying to change throttle and timing options it jumped into the "curves" box every time i clicked. re-downloading the whole file fixed my issue.

Hey Randy, just picked up 2 RX8-1900kv combos for myself & sons
buggies. I have a hotwire for them. These are our first elec. 1/8's
my question is about timing. Read back & didn't see anybody talkin
about ESC timing just gearing. I see theres no timing on the endbells
Would advancing the timing be a heat issue or leave the factory
default settings? We usually poor Nitro in these 1/8th scales so
I need some help. Oh, the buggies are TLR 8ight E/ AE RC8.2e
4S 5000 packs. Thanks.

Neil, use the setups on our website:

http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire/ESC...up-sheets.html

These setups don't need much timing. The motors aren't mechanically adjustable so nothing to mess with there.

I will let you know that gearing is the most critical thing and that between the TLR and AE buggy's there's often a 3-4 tooth difference between them due to the variance of the internal gearing in the diffs. Be aware.

there is a 2 tooth difference in pinion from an Xray to the AE also..

the setups on the tekin website.. i just load em, and run em.. never have issues..

Got my RX8 back from service.. super fast turn around.. and a new switch.. very nice..

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/top_speed.html

The above link should help with gearing guestimates. Personally, I've never messed with timing in 1/8. I've been running 18/44 on my AE 8.2E outdoors...but that's also on 6s/1400KV, so 4s/1900KV might require slightly different gearing to get the same feel.

Essentially, the exact opposite of Drag Brake. It allows a small amount of throttle when the trigger is released back to neutral. There's really no definitive yes or no answer as to wether or not you should use it. I have found it to help in some situations, but felt I didn't want it in others.
Side note : You can only run one or the other, DB or PC.

voltage cutoff is on a per cell basis, so it shouldnt matter.

I think I do 3.2v

So on 2s it cuts at 6.4v, on 2s it cuts at 9.6v

EDIT: I THINK

correct me if Im wrong.

Set for 4s... 3.2v x 4 = 12.8v
