Somebody at our club was saying the new V3 is going to be waterproof or is waterproof. Is that true?

What do you mean new V3 its already out. They were asking in 2014 for a RX8 to be waterproof.

Tekin RX8 V3 are not waterproof. They do have the Tekin RX4 Hardbox that is waterproof (2 to 4 cell ESC, no motor limit), it looks like a RX8. Randy can give more info on it though.

You're both correct. The Rx8 Gen3 is not waterproof. This is a racing ESC and we don't race in or under water with them.

If you need an Element Proof option, the Rx4 is your man.

The fans are the same, but they use different plugs to connect to the speed control.

I got a gen1 rx8 that I need to program with the hotwire to reverse the direction but have heard that the new hotwire software is not backwards compatible with the gen 1 esc. If so what hotwire software do I use for this and were is it available. Also does the gen 2 case fit the gen 1 esc? I would like the replace the upper part of the case.

Thanks,
Chris

Hotwire will work no problem there. The case I'm not 100% for sure about that one but should work. just different plugs for your fan though. everything else is good.

Default Unable to tune RX8

Hello Randy,

I have a RX8 (https://www.teamtekin.com/manuals/tws_manual_rx8.pdf) this unit has never been used until now, it was sitting in my parts box for a few years. I’m unable to change throttle profile or anything in the I have done a factory reset on it but it would still not go in the quick tune mode. When I press the mode button I do not see any LED’s (as it should) If I press the mode button 5 or more times it goes in celebrate mode. At startup, the unit boots up with the correct number of chimes, then connects with my TX properly.

Please let me know if there is anything I should try.

I sent you an email last week about this issue but haven't received any reply yet.

If all you need is to switch the motor direction, you can switch any two wires connected to the motor. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
