They might be selling the trucks, but people will still need to head to the LHS for replacement parts!

Absolutely. Pepboys don't carry parts and they will need them sooner or later and when they do they will eventually end up at a hobbyshop.

Are shop owner just sees that more trucks sold by them is potentially alot of extra business down the road.

I think it is the wrong kind of a promotion for hobby grade rc's. I can see a lot of frustrated parents and kids buying the car and getting pissed because no one is there to educate them on how to use it properly. Not to mention a lack of replacement parts. Break it and throw it in the closet. Back to the xbox.

While these cars are toy like, they really aren't toys and shouldn't be promoted as such.

I am all for promotion of the hobby, but we have to be careful that we don't cheapen it either.

I agree...it all depends on the shop and if they just charge the MAP or retail price for a kit.

If a Hobby Shop charges 329$ for a Speed-T for example...you KNOW they just made a killer profit.

Losi marks the Speed-T up for $330.

On rcuniverse, there was a guy from Traxxas talking about pep boys: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_82...mpage_2/tm.htm. I always wondered how much money the most popular rc company makes.....

They have them, butthat these prices, I don't think they will sell well

a buddy of mine talked to one of the managers, and the manager said they will be carrying parts,or at least have some kind of plan for a parts rack.

the ad i saw mentioned it came with a battery and charger.most hobby stores make more from selling parts rather than a kit.

i pretty much beleive in the more the merrier theme of things...
