it says in my manual to set my diff on the tight side while breaking in....but where do you adjust the diff?? any help?

also, why in the world would my spur either be A)wavy or B)angled when mounted...

Just like the steps say. Tighten your slipper all the way down.
Then to break the differential in . Place left tire down to the ground leave
the other up in the air. Throttle at 1/4 speed for aprroxiamtley 30 seconds.
Now do the opposite with the other tire. Now to set the differential
hold the right rear tire and spur . Turn the left rear tire forward. It should
move very little. If it does you need to tighten the differential up.
To do this you a 1/16 allen wrench look on the left hand tire side at the hub
coming out of the transmission . There should be a notch where the screw you used to intially build the differential up with. Place the allen wrench there and take the right tire and turn it forward. Check the differential setting like the previous step. Once set back out the slipper nut 4 turns to get a basic slipping starting point.

Your spur should neither be wavy or mounted at an angle.
You do have the spring on the outside of the spur?

This procedure has been very successful

B-FAST R/C PERFORMANCE
Differential Break-In Procedure

1)Clean all parts and work area

2)Follow owners manual for assembly instructions

3)Lightly Coat Diff Balls with Pro Diff lube, thoroughly lube Thrust Bearing with Pro thrust bearing lube.

4)Snug diff screw just until gear will not turn while out drives are held.

5)Assemble transmission per manual

6)With assembled transmission in car and car on a stand, hold one rear tire while lightly applying the throttle for about 20 seconds (about 1/4 throttle, No tire swell). Repeat while holding opposite tire.

7)Tighten diff screw about 1/16 of a turn and repeat step 6

8)Repeat step 7 two more times.

9)Slowly loosen diff screw a little at a time so rear tire turns with little or no resistance while holding the opposite tire.

10)Slowly re-tighten diff screw a little at a time until resistance is felt while turning one tire and holding the opposite.

Drive car and adjust diff to suit your driving style.

Do Not let the Diff Slip at anytime!!


To adjust the diff.
Looking at your CR from the rear
Place the long arm of a 1/16" or .050" Allen (hex) wrench thru the left outdrive slot and engage the slot in the diff screw head. You might have to turn the right rear wheel while applying slight pressure towards the transmission with the Allen wrench to get the wrench into the screw head.
Turn the right wheel righty tighty or lefty loosey.

Check your slipper pads, if they are not installed correctly your spur will wave

alright i found the diff adjust, they said it was an allen head somewhere but its actually a flat head screwdriver slot. now it spins smooth with the gear housing seperated, but why would that change things?possibly a bad dog bone angle?

If you put the allen in the slot it will turn.
