i never seen one, but it looks good. the only thing i can say is be careful with the battery dimension.

also, i have seen tekno RC version for the RC8. thats a good option too!! i use them with my 5T.

good luck

I love the way the kit looks. There was a guy racing one last Sat night here in Vegas. He had an LRP ESC and Novak motor on 2 Reedy 5000s. That will be the last conversion kit I ever buy!!

The car in the pic is Ryan Maifield's as he ran it at this weekend's Jconcepts Clash (on www.liverc.com right now).

My RC8 has an RCPD conversion kit which uses a Kyosho 46T spur gear, with my Neu 2.5d I am using a 19T pinion. This is with a 4s.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. Haven't had a reason to use my Bonus Lap membership in a while.

i just bought a new rc8 that comes with the big bore shocks it looks like im gonna be converting this to electric. so does anybody know when the reedy 35c lipo packs are gonna be avalible? im thinking a castle system for this rig but looks like the castle motors arent avalible yet either. al in all im glad to see this conversion kit from ae. it just adds more fuel to brushless 1/8th scale racing.

And what was really interesting is that Ryan Maifields fast lap time in the electric 1/8th buggy was a full second faster than in his gas buggy or truggy.
Also of note was the 1/10th electric 4wd's were just as fast as the 1/8th cars.

I assume they used the same track layout?

The layout was the same for all of the classes, Ryan mentioned in one of the "after race" interviews that the traction level was changing throughout the day.

Fastest Laps Per Class (in ascending order):
23.082 Lee Martin 10th Scale 4wd Electric
23.482 Ryan Maifield 8th Scale Electric
24.478 Ryan Maifield 8th Scale Nitro
25.004 Richard Lowe 10th Scale Enduro Truck
25.036 Lee Martin 10th Scale 2wd Electric
25.600 Mark Burt 10th Scale 2wd Electric Super Stock

assuming the weight of the 35C lipos are the same as the other reedy lipos, combined with the weight of the mamba monster ESC, that should be a side weight of 651grams. Maybe similar to to how the the PolyRC 6000mah pack feels in the RCPD rc8 conversion.

Alittle bit heavier on the battery side, but doesn't affect real driving handling, at least from what i experience. Anyone know how much the battery tray and other conversion parts used that go on the battery side weigh?

Actually Ryan ran the 2650/kv Castle motor in the RC8 with a 15T pinion, 46T spur gear.
