I own a 3R. Checked out the S at my LHS and, no one has mentioned it as of yet, but the quality is nowhere near that of the 3R. From the feel of the plastics to the cheeeep faux foam on the wheel. Almost like a peanut foam quality.
The 3.0, which my son also has feels more substantial in the hands.
Just doesn't have the quality like say a 3PK but that is too heavy for anything over a 5 min main. The spektrum with 4 AA\s can't be beat outside a lipo pack.

Laugh you may, but I am going to run this for a while until I decide on DX3S or DX3R...
2.4Ghz DSM Spektrum, Servo reverse, Dual rate steering, EPA for steering (R\L) & throttle\brake. I will adjust throttle\brake curves threw the ESC software.
And it only uses 4 AA's as well.....

The 3r is a neat unit but the most important thing in a radio is the throttle feel/location and steering feel and the 3r has far too much tension on the brake and (to me) doesn't have the best throttle location--and I don't believe the tension is adjustable. I have a Helios which I love but the best feeling throttle has to be the M11.
