Default anyone have a Yeah Racing setup?

I was wondering if anyone had bought one of these and installed it in a 1/10 scale monster truck. i have a 3906 emaxx and i want some more power, but im not spending 300 bucks on a brushless system and then everything on the truck i snap(im not so nice to it i guess) but these kits offer a brushless setup with esc, motor, and program card for like 90 bucks...rcmart sells them. I was wondering if anyone has used one, bought one, heard someone who did, and how it did....any feedback from any experience would help. thanks

I am not going to say they are good or bad, but I have looked into it and was interested untill I noticed that it was only a 35A ESC... the MMM is around 200A for a reason... Big trucks pull big power... It might work and if you want you could tryu, but I personally wouldnt put one in an e-maxx... And you do know you could gte a MM (possibly even used) and a feigao motor for under $200... That is plenty of power... And I installed my VXL with a 3s in my emaxx and it was sick fast... But a good 3s lipo will cost you huge... if you have 2 6 cell packs you could make a plug to run 12 cells on anything though. I would do a MM feigao personally...

Here's an interesting economy package to kick around that uses respected gear:

- Mamba Max
- Medusa 36-50-3300V2
- 3S LiPo

If Ammo is still selling cheap, you can pick a motor up equivalent to a 9l or 8l for under $40. Great motors. just search Ammo 36-56-2700 on tower and it should pull up.

do those fit in the motor mounts for the emaxx? Or will I have to pickup a new one. And will I need LiPo batteries to make it have some oomph?

12 cells will give it plenty of power, but lipo is ideal... Weight and little more power together make it a lot faster and more agile. Not needed though.

And these motors will fit the stock mounts just fine. No need to upgrade at all.

okay. the max voltage on those is 14.8 volts. which is my current setup. it has an 815 watt rating on 12 cells. so it should be plenty for now. ill prolly find a few weakpoints lol. Any recommendations on an esc? Its only rated for 55amp continuous.

i was talking abou tthe ammo setup. found one on tower hobbies, although its a 36-56-2600. the only diff was yours was a 2700kv model. but i didnt see that listed. Im lookin for esc's. thinking about a castle creations sidewinder 1/10? But it doesnt list the amp rating....

on castle creations website they say the sidewinder will deliver about 2/3 of the performance of the mamba. The mamba is rated at 100amps continuous, so im assuming that means the sidewinder should be around 66amps...the motor is rated at 55 amps continuous, is that enough of a margin to avoid burning my esc? I dont have a temp monitor

I ment 2600... Sorry about that. And I just looked and noticed that it had gone up in price... They used to be $34... Sorry about the price raise... You might look for a feigao as well. You can get an 8XL(stronger and be able to gear for same speed) for the same price. You will need a 5mm pinion though... I dont know exactly what gearing you will have to run... Check out Impaktrc.com. Great site for big brushless needs. And a sidewinder wont be able to push an e-maxx... It is maybe 75A or so... The motor says 55A but it will pull much more than that. That is based on a plane not a car. You need something like a MM... Im sorry but you really cannot make a brushless setup very cheap... You can get a MM/8XL for around $200 though... Not bad if you think about it...

okay here is a kb45 from hobby city. rated at 98 continuous and up to 36volts for 55 bucks. Ive heard of these motors on here, are they good?

edit: ummm, the size is all wrong i think... there are a few of these but which ones will fit in a 540/550 size mounting slot?

That truthfully wont push an emaxx... Get an 8XL and a MM from Impaky for a little over $200. A new 5mm pinion shouldnt cost much either. Maybe $10... I cannot tell you what size gear to run though since I have never run this setup... I would think about a 22/62 gearing would get you around 40mph on that setup... maybe a 23/62? Each pinion will cost you $10.

Yes the KB45s are basically the feigao motors with a new name... Good motors. But they have 6mm shafts... I dont know where to get a 6mm pinion...
