so, basically you are saying ill be okay if i can find some 6mm pinion shafts? kershaw designs sells stainless steel 6mm pinions

and also, what is the diff between a feigao 6xl, 7xl, 8xl, 9xl, 10xl? i know the xl means they are longer therefore should have more torque correct? but what is the number in front? kershaw sells them for 69.99 and l's for 59.99

You could easily run that on 12 cells. I dont think your understanding me... Spend a little extra money... Get a feigao and a MM... the MM/8XL combo is used all over the place... Its huge power and great reliability... I'm sure thats a decent motor... You need a big ESC still though... You will still need bigger than a sidewinder...

The number tells their KV rating. Higher number is lower KV. 8XLs are just about perfect for 12cell/4s lipo. You could probably use one of those hobbycity motors just fine. 2800 should be fine if you gear it right. I unfortunately dont know what gearing you should run... The whole thing with big power systems is to match high voltage with low kv.

sorry, i got that part already. any leads on a place that sells the mamba a lil cheaper? now im just looking for a motor i guess. found achart with what all the first numbers mean...winds lol. link to chart for all of feigao's specs yeah, im assuming the hobby city motors are just feigao's sold by a diff company or something. identical specs almost. within 1 rpm and same amp rating. so im trying to find an esc, you say a mamba max will be fine?

a mamba max is rated at 100 amp continuous, a mamba monster is 120 amps. the motor is rated at 110 amps. So, you think i should bite the bullet and get the monster? thanks a lot for all the help by the way. ive only been rcing about a week lol also, how do people power fdans on these things? i have a few comp fans i can repurpose for this, they will run on 5 or 12 volts. do these mamba's have some constant low voltage feed? not sure if the leads going to the receiver are constant or not

No the MMM is around 200A... The MM will be fine. The 110A is the MAX rating. Not what it will deff pull. I truely cant tell you I have never run feigaos myself... The motor I run in my revo is a little pricier... I know for a fact that you can run 12cell/4s with a MM/8XL combo absolutely fine. Itll be very fast and crazy torque... Look up 8XL e-maxx on youtube... You will find plenty of people running it and the ycan recommend you a gearing as well...

wait wait wait... only bout a week? You shouldnt be looking into a system that will make your truck a 10 pound land rocket... Not yet...

No if you have the newest e-maxx then you will be able to whale on it hard and nothing will snap. Bullet proof tranny... But again man... Dont owrry about making your truck do standing backflips and go 0-40 in a matter of like 2 seconds... Not yet...

lol, its the 3906 emaxx. two speed tranny...thats the first thing thats gonna go prolly. i guess ill just start in second. i dont plan on going really fast, just want it to get there fast ya know? but, idk, im debating on whether or not iwanna bite the bullet on the monster, it'll let me run up to 6cell lipo, 18 nimh. im pretty sure ill want to upgrade in the future. and i wont be able to run anything more than a 2 cell lipo. so for 30 extra bucks now i might save 170 later....

No the MM can easily run 4s if you take the BEC off and use an external... Which will end up costing you $20 anyways. You can run 12cells on it fine though. And trust me man... You DONT want to upgrade to brushless yet unless your a good driver already...
