Default 1/18 RC Purchase Help Needed

Hi guys I have if you could please post your opinions on my question it would be greatly appreciated.
The car is for a type of competition where once we modify the car it will be used to push another "car" out of a 4 ft x 4 ft square ring.

The parameters for the car is 30 cm x 30 cm (11.8 in x 11.8 in), is no more than 2.5 kg and runs on electricity. Budget really is not an issue about $1000 or so.

I visited two local hobby stores both gave me differing opinions one suggested the Losi Mini-LST 2 and the other suggested the Losi Mini-Rock Crawler.

Basically here was the package for each of them

Losi Mini-LST 2 with 2 brushless motors and tire and battery upgrades.
For the Rock Crawler they suggested 28 turn motors and battery and tire upgrades. And to make sure that the crawler doesn't crawl over its opponents a "cow catcher" of sorts would be built.

So my question is disregarding price which would be the better car for the competition. The Crawler or the LST 2? Thank you very much guys.

wow this is very different. I would have to go with the rock crawler because it has crazy torque and the diffs wont strip because the rock crawler is built to handle lots of pressure situations

My guess is that neither one would work very well since they are both rather tall and have a high center of gravity. I would think that you need something lower to the ground with a low center of gravity and a good amount of gear down. IS this for a class or something? Can you build your own vehicle or does it have to be store bought?

Thanks for the advice here's a video of a competition granted this competition had different dimensions and the motors were extremely powerful since the competition was in a Japanese professional contest.

Well it is for school but its for a regional competition. My partner and I were in the competition last year and used the schools kit which was not great, but we were able to get 5th place in our region. We were hoping to do better this year. We can build it or buy a store bought one.
