Default Newbie in 1/8 electric need some suggustion for setup and motor.

Last year I had converted my MP777 to brushless using the novak kit but I decided give truggies a try in brushless.

I recently purchased the 8ight-T as a base and need some advise in conversion kits and etc. I went with the 8ight T because i really like the clean look of the losi conversion. I hope this kit doesn't require drilling and hacking on the novak kit. I've heard the novak shaft is too short for the Losi E conversions? So what is the best most popular setup? NeuMotors 1512/2.5D with Castle Creations 1/8 Mamba Monster ESC a good combo? Also wth a 4S battery what gearing would be suitable for medium to fast track?

In short.
1. Using a Losi 8ight-T what conversion to buy?
2. What ESC to buy?
3. Which motor to pick and gearing?

Go with the mamba monster 2200 kv combo or the Neu 1515/1Y and a 13 tooth pinion on 4s

Thanks for the info. Which place is best to buy the motors and do you know what does 2.5D/1.5D/1Y means?

For your questions:

1. RCPD conversion at amain is at a really good price now. You want the cheaper one, not the ultimate tray as that is only for the buggy. Other conversions are good, but for the money, Its hard to argue with this one that is bolt on.

2 & 3: recommendations giving already should be sufficient. I would go with the Castle combo for the money as well.

How does the RCPD conversion compare with the losi? Do they both use plastic spurs. I see the losi is cheaper and nicer radio setup but the RCPD is not restraint to motor shaft length? Can these trays take 2 (2s lipos)? Currently, i have the two from my old emaxx and one 4s from my mp777 buggy.

I purchased the mamba 2200 motor combo.

The RCPD kit imho looks to have a better tray for usage with softcased lipos. Its motor mount is also compatible with a variety of motors compared to the losi.

As for 2S lipos, I am not sure. I don't think the tray is as wide as say the one AE is coming out to stand them up in.

The RCPD one from Amain isn't priced to bad, I believe its only $90 versus losi's $80.

I got a 8T with a RBC6-BB7T and would like to go brushless as this guy also. I dont mean to steal your thread but we have same interests. How would this setup compare to a nitro?

Neighbors are complaning about my nitro, well it is loud, lol.

I already have the nice chargers and stuff since I have a brushless Trex450.
What size battery is needed and how long will that last?
I would like to get a Tekno conversion kit so I can run servo brakes unless the motor brake works good. I know it would be less weight on the car. I tried reading through that mentioned thread but its soo huge and a variety of info I got lost.
