I didn't think they made a 4 cell lipo b/c of the voltage difference. lipo single cell is 3.7 volts and a 4-cell is 4.8 volts. No easy way to make equal voltage.

Most E conversions use a 4S 5000. Like ours here:

http://www.maxamps.com/Lipo-5000-148-Pack.htm

if you compare you'll see ours is lighter and smaller than most which helps a lot with balance in these conversions. To much weight on one side makes them really unstable in the air.

WTF are you talking about???

He is looking for advice on 14.8v lipos to run an 1/8th scale truck.

the guys I trust for info about 1/8th electric cars all use ZIPPY brand lipos that are rated @ 30 or 35-c. They claim you can safely run 25c packs but dont really recommend it.

Max amps like the ones listed above are graet packs too. I have great results from then in 10/th scale applications and on my starter boxes.

I think HeavyB is a bit confused. It goes like this HeavyB, A single Li-Po is 3.7 volts a single sub C is 1.2 volts. So a 4S li-po is 14.8 volts and a 4 cell sub C pack is 4.8 volts. Do you see the difference now?

I was replying the same time he was, so I didn't see the application. I thought he was trying to use a lipo for a 4 cell sub C application.....my bad.

Most people are using 2x orion lipos or 2x Trinity lipos.... hard cased.

I think ROAR rules for the official classes will have a 4800mah limit and have to have hard cases for 2009.

IMO I would recommend a hard case lipo in any 1/8 buggytruggy... the damage/vibration thats possible will make a soft pack fall apart. Lipos are an investment ,and in the long run, your better off with a hard case.

Trinity packs are nice because they are filled with rubber then hard-cased.... this will be the best protection, for a battery your gonna drop some coin on.

ROAR did a size limit and nothing else thus far. No capacity limit was announced just overall pack size.

Why would they limit capacity they didn't with 1/10th scale packs???? As long as it fit's in the specs it will work.
