the evaders are ok but they arent really good. Mine always broke and my friend has nothing but troubls, so much that he quit the hobby because of it traxxas are like industructable and the slash can be raced stock in ht e spec class. The T4 or B4 RTR are also good but not the best bashers more racer.

I think im gonna go with the rustler xl-5, with the integy 7 cell 8.4 volt 3600 mah battery, and the onyx 210 charger. What do you guys think about this. Also what type of speed do you think I should expect with this battery. Also can I have some upgrade motors for the rustler preferably 15 turn and that will work with the xl-5 esc.

i would agree if he was racing....all that graphite is stiffer than the plastics. If you don't have flex, you break things.

The Evader is an OK entry level truck but it isnt as good as the e firestorm. My advice is to get the E-Firestorm, $190, and Orion Formula 15X2 BB Motor, $40. That is $240. And you can save $25 off your order of $200 or more so the total will come to about $215+$20 for shipping (estimate)=$235 for truck and motor. The E-Firestorm is lighter than the rustler and also handles better so it will go faster with the same motor and it also duable. For a battery the E-Firestorm ESC (speed control) only takes 6 cells but even with that it will be faster than a rustler on 7 cells. For a battery I would suggest this, Trinity Reference 3600mAh. It is a good battery at a great price for the capacity. I would get 2 or more if you want to play more than waiting for the batteries to charge. For a good but cheap battery charger I would either suggest the Onyx 200 or Onyx 210 depending on how much you want to spend. You can get the 220, 230, or 240 if you have a bigger budget. You need to get a good charger to start out with. Hope thia helps!!!! Do it once, do it right!!!

And my favorite saying, "Pay me now, or pay me later, because your gonna pay me."

And that saying is soo true!!!! Buy cheap, buy twice!!

Thansk for all the help and i think the rustler is the way to go. I want to basha nd I hear the rustler is the thoughest and most upgradable. Do you guys think this is good. Rustler xl-5, with the integy 7 cell 8.4 volt 3600 mah battery, and the onyx 210 charger. What type of speed will this class get.

the E-firestorm is actually as durable if not more durable than the rustler. Dont get Integy batteries, stick with the Trinity ones I had. the Onyx 210 is a good charger for the money.

As far as speed, Traxxas advertizes all their trucks to a certain speed, but to get to this speed you need an extremely high 28 tooth pinion gear. It comes with a 23t pinion which is already overgeared. So you need to get a 20t or 18 tooth pinion for it actually to be fun because when bashing you want accelration more than speed. I would say with the 18t pinion and 7 cells 30mph maybe?

GET THE E-FIRESTORM.

i hate evaders. This kid at the local track his one. its a P.O.S. I say this because it breaks too easily, the esc is glitchier than hell, radio worked half the time and the servo quit on him on his like 10th run with the truck.

Default Get the rustler

The rustler is very durable, and a whole lot of fun, and if you do get into racing it is a great entry level truck. You can get 35mph with the included 28T pinion, and that 8.4V battery. My little bro who is 6 runs hit rustler into something full speed at least every time he runs it. It hasn't broken yet. If you want to get a really good motor to replace the Titan 12 with, it is a Trinity Chameleon 19T. It has an equilled amount of torque and speed. I can get 30mph out of my brothers rustler with this motor and a 7.2V battery, and its a little undergeared. plus torque for off-road. Any other Q's just ask. Perferably by a PM.

chris I think im going to take your advice. How fast can I get with the battery you suggested and the stocl motor because I'm not going to buy the new motor right away. Also is it easy to install a motor like that.

its very easy to install motors. Just take out the two motor screws and the grub screw out of the pinion gear to take it off. then just do the opposite to get it back in as for the e-firestorm, stock on a GOOD 7.2v ni-mh it will do 20-25mph. I would either get the battary chris suggested or an SPC ener-g 4600 6c, very good, strong, high capacity cells.
