Arc isn't expo and i was talking about the airtronics piece. The Dx3r or the M11 are what i would recommend. I use a m11 but like the dx3r when i tried someones.

What exactly does "expo" do? And what do those radios run to get it steering/driving the car.....

is there not a middle ground?

I realize buying twice sucks, but I don't think I want to drop 1000 dollars on the first go. Talk about scary

What is not good about the radio that I linked to? Servo's not strong enough? Just plain old? Not quick enough? I'm not a pro racer so I don't know that I will be able to truly tell the difference in good and really good...

I race a CR indoors in the stock class (17.5 brushless) and I'm thinking about selling it. It's super nice, and has all top notch parts;

Novak GTB combo
Spektrum micro receiver
Airtronics 360 servo
Orion platinum 4800 lipo

It's wired up beautifully. I just rebuilt the shocks, diff, and has one main on brand new rims and tires. I have another CR, brand new in the box, another brand new body, and lots of spares.

Get in touch with me if you're interested.

Steve

The radio is a very old design which doesn`t have the features as most "racing" radios . The 590 servo will get you by as it has enough torque for 1/10 2wd , but lacks and speed . I know it`s hard to get all the better stuff all at once , but you are getting a top of the line buggy , why downgrade it with sub par electronics ? I would at least consider the DX3S , it`s cheaper and has same functions of the R version . It`s your money so do as you see fit , but myself and others that are telling you to go another route have been down this road and learned from it .

i appreciate the help, really. don't think i don't. i'm just trying to please myself, and the people getting this for me...for christmas. i don't want to ask for too much. I think I have it figured out now though, so we should be good to atleast get a rtr going.

Right now this is what i'm looking at as for parts....

XXXCR
Spektrum DX3S DSM 3CH Surface Radio with Telemetry (w/FREE RX)
Novak XBR Sport EX13.5 Brushless System (ESC + Motor)

i'll probably get a decent NiMH as well, so i can run it around the track and all, but save up with my own money to snag a lipo 2s and charger to match.
