I don't even own a stock motor though...lol. Too bad Mod is dead there.
I have a motor and a B4, if I could get this whole right / left thing down, I would run in it....

Just4Fun

: )

Update: There is a Motel 6 a couple miles from the track just off I-94 on State Street (at least there was the last time I looked).

I have 2 spare novak 17.5's in my box bro. Show up and you can run one for the day if you want.

Hey NICK by the way , how much do you want for it so I know how much cash to bring with me.

Mod buggy is dead because you can't use that much power on the slick track. The TQ for stock buggy has been faster than mod buggy every week.

I'm not the most skilled driver (actually one of the slowest, being a novice and all), but it seems to me whether its stock buggy vs mod buggy, stock truck vs mod truck, or 4WD Open vs or 1/8 buggy, its all about the driver....

Without actually trying to analyze it in detail, it seems with lap times and overall race outcome (laps and time) there hasn't been a lot of difference between 4WD open (1/10 scale) and 1/8 scale buggies either. Maybe a few seconds here and there, but from the macro view more or less in the same ball park, putting more onus on the driver's soft touch and keeping the front pointed down the track....

I'm a big fan of clearing the quad across the front of the driver's stand, with little or no run-up coming off that back corner.

( IMHO )

True,my stock lap time are 1-2 sec. faster than my mod lap times, even running a 13.5 in mod. I think that's why I dig that track so much ,it reminds me of my track at home in the way that the track itself is an equalizer. It does you no good to run big motor . It just looks faster when really it's not. It's just like the quad section there is jut as fast whether you double double or go for the tripple single in stock. A smooth consistant double double puts you in a better position for the 180 after the quad I think.

I think you hit the nail on the head, the track is the equalizer...I especially enjoyed last weekend, as I was quietly watching lots of folks mess with their tires and suspension setups trying to find a grip on the slippery track. Experience does make a big difference (and access to spare tires). I'm nowhere near that level yet, but its fun to watch.

There is also that thing that someone passes on the fly during a quad, while someone else is lower to the ground taking a 2-2.

well, Eric borrowed my 17.5 and will be running stock buggy this Saturday. He wants to get in on the larger class with more competition. I guess 3 guys didn't trip his trigger.

See y'all Saturday!
