Questions?? Input please - Losi Speed T or Rustler VXL

I know I will get mixed reviews but please provide your opinions on these RTR's. Will the Losi work with my DX3R?

Thanks in advance.

well the losi is an all around better truck. its more race inspired and had a better and faster motor than the traxxas. the losi will be the better truck all around but the tranny isn't too good in the grass so id recomend getting a new transmission if you're going to bash. i dont really think the vxl is that fast from all the times ive seen them. as you can tell i dont like traxxas too much.

It should work with your spektrum DSM radio, but I would call Lois just to make sure. I would go with the Speed-T, it's based off of the XXX-T and should be easily converted to a full out race truck if that's ever a road you decide you want to try out.

RC Driver did a review of it and got 44.43MPH box stock with a losi 5000mah 2S 7.4V lipo. That's pretty stinking fast in my book.

Just my .02

I would go with an e-firestorm instead. It will be just as fast and much more durable.

No, the DX3R will not work with the standard Losi Spektrum Rx. This radio will only work with the new DSM2 Rx's.

I bought the Speed-T intending to race if offroad. All it needs is Diff balls, some grease, different tires for your track, and off you go.

I thought that the DX3 was backwards compatible with all spektrum Rx's?

The Speed T would have to be the best looking 1/10 truck on the market. Hardest decision will be which color to choose

i'd go with the vxl russler imo. i just sold my desert truck wich has all the same suspension as the speed-t. As soon as i got the truck, i replaced the esc with a vxl and a novak 7.5l. The thing was fast, but very fragile. i snapped both cvd pins, right front arm, right rear arm, right steering bell crank and front shock tower. this all happened within the week. i was doing all the same jumps as my vxl slash. Dont get me wrong, losi makes a great product, but for durability with brushless and jumps... I think losi makes great cars/trucks, but the new speed-t/ DT did not impress me durability wise
The vxl trans are superb, all metal geared. No cvd pins. solid a-arms and suspension.

Not trying to lean you one way, but this is my experience

Good luck

I say go with the VXL. The losi probably handles a little better, but the reality is that if you are bashing or simply doing speed runs, I would go for durability over the handling. The VXL is faster though... although at the end of the day, if it is 70 or 65 it is still too fast to control, but will put a smile on your face.

The VXL has tons of hop-up parts available which will pretty much make the truck indestructible.

Nothing beats a Fastlane Machine & RPM upgraded Rustler VXL with 3s Lipo for bashing. PERIOD.

Looking back at the first post, I am kinda suprized you are looking at RTR's after having a 300$ radio setup.
