  • Well Im going to try a 6.6 final and may just purchase a Trinity Duo in the meantime to see if its just the motor.
  • denny, for what it's worth, David St. Peter won last night in stock truck with a Speed Passion. Trinitys and Orions are good stuff too though!
  • Anyone running at Tekin 17.5? What do you think?
  • FWIW, I'm running a SpeedPassion 17.5 in my X-6 (B4 internal ratio, 2.6ish) and I'm running a FDR of 5.0, which is a 66 and a 34. The motor's about 110 after a 5 minute race. I think it could use some more gear. Go up, up, up!
  • How do I work out my FDR?, using speed passion in a T4.
  • (78/29) * 2.6 = FDR

    So, 78 spur, 29 pinion * 2.6 = 6.99

    2.6 is the transmission ratio.

T4 has bigger tires than B4 - so buggy guys need a lower FDR for the same top-speed.
  • The losi 17.5 is a bit under the radar, but it is a seriously good motor, don't forget to put it on your list, also yeah theres some confusion with FDR's in here, fdr doesnt take into account the rolling diameter of the tyre, so trucks / buggies/ touring cars are hard to compare unless the diameter is known but in my truck with the losi motor i run fdr of 6.18 which works very well
  • Another one to look at is the Fantom Ion motor. From all reports it is a awsome motor. It is a sensored motor and can be run with the sensor or without.

So maybe I should just look at roll out?

yes, if u can measure the tyre diameters of the different vehicles and take into account tyre expansion on the big truck tyres etc, the easier thing to do is just compare apples to apples, so if you're looking for a truck ratio, just look at what other trucks are running

Sorry for the late reply, i am running the novak 17.5/gtb combo in a zx-5 and a b4 and both are rockets. Currently the zx-5 in geared @ 5.0 and the b4 @ 4.9!
  • Im running the Trinity Duo now and couldn't be more impressed.

Just thought I would ask again.
  • Tdeal823- I have ran 4 different 17.5's including the Tekin. I actually love the Tekin's powerband and it has plenty of power.
The can design seems to really work too. Temps are usually a lil lower with the same gearing.
    Great Rip,and Rpm.

    Hope this info helps.
