I need a bit of help with my restorations...

I've got a few older Schumacher CATs I'm restoring. The part I'm having a bit of a time figuring out is "age appropriate" electronics. What were the appropriate or typical ESCs, Batteries, Servos, and motors for a given period?

For example;

1985-1988?
1988-1992?

I know some ESC spanned some time. Anyone have a timeline?

I also am a Vintage Lover, Kyosho that is shes taken a couple layers of paint over 20yrs, but Ive decided to restore it with as much modern materials as I can, you know the carbon fiber and titanium for the shock towers/chassis/upper brace and tie-rods. Very hard to find people willing to machine these little parts! I'll get Jeff to make some calls! LOL I know a "NIP" belt will be a biotch to find but thats what makes it fun.... Happy building Dude, the tub looks great!

I have a couple of vintage rigs I wouldn't mind getting rid of for the right price. One is a gold pan RC10 T and the other is a kyosho chain driven rocky 4wd offroad racer. The RC10T has some extra tires and stuff.

the old stuff is not worth that much unless you have something rare. You might get $60 for a decent rc10 roller.

I don't think so much it has to do with rarity as does condition. I've seen gold tub RC10s NIB going for 400.00 bucks on ebay and selling. I've seen heavily used RC10 goldtubs go for under 100.00 just depends on condition and what it comes with...

There is a demand for older RC10s. I've been looking around and a few guys around here have bought vintage RC10s. Paying around no more than 200.00 for a super clean version....

I would be willing to get rid of both of them for a brushless esc motor combo for my daughters rusty.

If my memory serves me correctly, the first version of the RC10T sold with the Black tub. I had one of those..

I forgot to mention thats another thing that would make a vintage RC worth something is how much of it is still original or if it has mods, are age appropriate....

Default Losi sale

There is a sale of old losi stock on if anyone is interested. I dont know much about losi but there seems to be a heap of xx4, xxcr? as well as other bits.
Go to the Australian racing section and look for the Custom Model Cars thread.
Its on page 8. http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachme...-sale-1208.pdf

Just remember its in Aus dollars which is worth about 65-70c American.

Default Project stealth graphite

I came upon this buggy yester sitting in someones basement, it had been mostly died black. I decided to turn this into my main racer and black is the theme. The six speed went and the fresh rebuild and dyed stealth is no in it. All white will be black. I don't know what the steering is but there is no slop unlike my gold tube. 8)

And I found a local person that has a hobby shop in their basement and they have a whole wall of rc 10 parts :P

BTW, I'm looking for a body that will fit my Jrx-Pro...new or used as long as it is in decent shape.

The guy a few posts back was asking about "age appropriate" stuff. I used to race quite a bit about 16 years ago when I
was a kid. I used a Novak M5 speed control back then, and it was one of the few things I kept. Well when I got a B4 and decided to
race last season....I hooked up the M5 and it worked perfectly! It was funny because that speed control is older than a couple
of kids I raced against.
