Default When will we see a beefier 4WD from Kyosho\Losi\AE?

These things seem so fragile....now that we have LiPo batteries that are almost 1/2lb lighter, why not use more aluminum, thicker & more solid upper and lower arms, etc like the 1/8th buggies?

Just a thought...

And lose the income they make off repair parts and upgrades?... Convert an 8th scale, then you'll have a convenient tank!

man it is all about staying nimble with a 4wd. adding unsprung weight will take away from that. Not to mention all the current rules are geared twards NImH weights.Plus like r40 said, they make a small fortune off the parts you break running them!

4w speeds are way faster than 2w thus they break when they hit something...

I'm surprised Losi hasn't come out with a new 4wd buggy yet. The XXX-4 G+ is pretty outdated.

The B44 and ZX5/SP/FS are both very durable cars. The Yokomo MR4BX is durable...D4 seems to be durable (only seen it run a few times). Losi is the only car that is still made of glass.

Sure these cars aren't Slash durable...but they never will be.

Those companies seem to like to make 2 versions of a concept:
-one that wins the championships
-a cheap RTR version of above

So until a beefier version fits one of the two categories above, it may never happen.

I see this more with the 2WD, but not so much with the 4WD's.....Kyosho has a RTR, but it is going on 2 versions behind the race version....can't upgrade to the pro if you wanted to.....

I think the reason Kyosho is "behind" with their ZX-5 RTR is because you can buy the upgrade "service packs":

LAW35 will convert it to a SP suspension
LAW38 plus above will convert it to a FS chassis and suspension

By all means not an inexpensive path but a path none the less.

My B44 is pretty dang durable. The diffs last real good as well. I couldn't ask for much more out of it.All it needs is for me to learn to go faster with it.

I had a XXX-4 and it would break just looking at it.It had to go.
And I like Losi stuff.

Trf501x is a tank, For the B44 just mount TRF501 Front arms on it (dremel job) and enjoy your armored car.
I would like to see some 1/9 scale buggy, large enough to have more space to fits whatever battery I want and to have some beefier parts like A-arms

The problem with KYOSHO is they need someone that can mold a good grade of gf nylon properly so friggn parts don't break. PS..Kyosho if you reading this take me up on my 27+ years of processing and mold design knowledge!

Well, it's 249$ at A Main, eBay the motor and electrics, and you have a 150$ or less roller there......
