What sensored ESC to buy?
Im gonna get a sensored esc along with a Novak 17.5 motor for my xxxt mf2 and I was wondering which one to get. Right now I have a Novak GTX esc and I dont really like the one touch setup with the blinking lights. I would prefer something that you could program via computer but the only one I can think of that does that is the Mamba Max which isnt sensored. I have also looked at the Losi ESC, which has the quick program card. What about the LRP Sphere comp esc? I would like to stay under $150-$175 but I could go up if it is really needed.

to my knowledge there isn't any computer programmable sensored esc's out. But you can't go wrong with the sphere I'm running one with my 17.5ss powered rb5 buggy. its a great set up I plan on getting a second one for my 4wd buggy next week.

I think the tekin rs pro can be setup by computer unless I'm wrong.

My sensored/sensorless ESC can be set with the PC, but it makes no sense since you can do the same settings with the program box. Here are some pictures of the USB adapter:

Lrp sphere comp is a great choice.

the tekin RS and RS PRO are great sensored speed controllers they both can be programmed with the tekin hotwire which really brings out the full potential of the speedo you can adjust the timing of the motor with the hot wire very easy to use

I'm currently running a Speed Passion speed control. Fully programmable with the included programming box. Check out the Speed Passion link on the electric onroad thread for more info.

and... Tekin has awsome tech support!!!! Plus the RS will run in hybrid mode which is a nice feature. Unless you plane on running 4wd mod you don't need the Pro just an FYI |
Did you guys miss his price range? The only one that falls in his price range so far is mine.

Question on this USB adapter.....it looks to have the same little part as the Losi Xcelorin setups....any idea who makes these? Your photo top, stock Losi photo on the bottom http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/6172/dsc01234rb2.jpg http://img391.imageshack.us/img391/3927/adapterfj9.jpg I found this part for 9.99 wonder if it might work? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=2119 |
Unless you are going to run lower than a 5.5 motor, which I doubt, the Speed Passion falls well within his price range:

So it looks like it is down to the LRP sphere comp, Tekin, or Speed Passion esc. Lemme rephrase this, I would like to have a program card or something via usb (that would be a plus) but really what im looking for is ease of programming. I wont go below 5.5 turns. What about the Novak GTB/slydr?
Stupid question: What is a BEC? |
