What motor are you running? That will determine what you need as far as mah goes.

I'll dump 100$ on the race day pack
With lipos u dont need practice packs. U get 2 really good packs or if u have multiple cars 1 per car. I use 1 per car on race day and for practice by the time 1 is dead the other should almost be charged

True rc makes fine packs for the price. I know many people that have used them and they work great...even in an electric 8th scale. They are going to be your least expensive choice because I think you will need 8000 mah if you want to run hard all 30 mins.

I think I need to get out of the NiMh state of mind...I'm so used to having 5-6 batteries and multiple chargers.......

I think if I had 2-3 4000Mah Lipo's and 2 Chargers, I will prob be happy.

That sounds about right to me. I'd want the 2nd charger for Transmitter batteries or if I needed to charge something else....

Summer time I fly 3D Foamies and 2 chargers would be great as well.

At most you will need 2 lipo's per car you are running. I know several people that only have 1 and are able to just charge in between heats without any problems. Completely up to you.

I think for piece of mind, I need at least 2. 1 battery charging while I'm running\practicing I feel better. I'm a glass half empty kind of guy.

You think the smc 5000 will last 30 minutes?

Understanding the batteries has proven difficult for me. All the brands, power ratings, cells, chargers, balancers, lipo vs. NiMh, etc.

Someone needs to write a book on this, or at least a detailed article on how to sort all this out.

I have no idea how long it last's. Depends on your motor and track layout.

Of all the roar legal capacity battery's i think this one is among the best.

It's really simple, to be honest. Lipo's are very easy to understand and use. NIMH is more complicated.
