Default Maxamps Lipos Vs Venom Lipos

I need some new lipos (11.1 Volts 5000 mah) for my bandit VXL.

I heard that maxamps were the best, but they cost twice as much.

Do venom make good lipos?

In the past I bought venom NIMHS and they were crap.

2 Venoms + Charger cost Aus $440 and the max amps cost over $1000.

Just wanted to find out what people thought.

Thanks

You may get a cheaper battery but this is a investment that you don't want to keep making over and over. Buy a good one right off the bat and have no worries. I know first hand how great there customer support is and that means alot when you have a problem or question. You can jump on the web site and talk to a "real person" and get answers to your questions instantly. Ok, I am a little bias because I drive for them but I'll tell you one thing, as hard as money is to come by these days I wouldn't tell you to spend the extra money if it wasn't worth it but in this case it is.

As for venom lipos, I haven't heard much about them. But if you have had bad experiences with there stuff before I would go with another brand.

Had no complaints with my maxamps packs that I had, a 4S 6000mah for a 1/8 scale conversion, and a smaller 1/18 scale sized pack (believe 2000mah or 2100mah? been awhile) both worked well.

Another good lipo brand for the money in case you haven't considered it is lipos from trakpower. They make a 3S 11.1V 4900mah 25C lipo hardcased battery pack. They also make a 5400mah 11.1V 5400mah 16C lipo hardcased pack as well. These packs use enerland cells which for 1/8 scale conversion guys have shown to be some of the best for the money.

if shipping cost is a concern, give rclipos a look. The Thunderpower lipos he has listed there has a 3S hardcased lipo listed, and he has free shipping worldwide. worth a look.

As for what to charge a 3S lipo at, go with 1C charge rate unless stated otherwise by the manufacturer.

I have a venom 2s 4000 lipo and haven't had any issues. Raced another stock slash with a maxamps 6000 in it on an indoor track and they were both hanging with one another.couldn't tell any difference
