AE Slash?

Any ideas if AE will come out with their own version of the Slash? The SC8 matches the Slayer. I think it would be cool. Losi tried with the baja but the body just doesn't make it right.

nah ae i working on the buggies and trucks now i bet you. if they havent now i wouldnt imagine that they would.

I highly doubt it plus the SC8 is bigger than the Slayer it is just like the RC8 with a few different parts Slayer is 1/10 scale so those really are not even in the same field. But man I would love to have a SC8 :D

They are working on the electric conversion kit for the rc8 so I would imagine they/you could eventually have an E-SC8...

hope they are working on the bug & truck ...

How does the SC8 match the Slayer?

The bodies kind of look the same :)

the AE rep at I-Hobby said that the sc8 will be $700!!!!! street price!

Blade Bomber 10-23-2008 04:42 PM

WOW That seams a little pricey but I bet it would be fun to run and get a class of them going

SC8
Width 12"
Wheelbase 14.75"

Slash
Width 11.65"
Wheelbase 13.2"

The SC8 and Slash are VERY close in size.
They are likely not the scale they say they are.

..The Slash, that is.

Outside of Tamiya, SC8 is about as close to true to scale as you'll find in off-road RC. Which rocks.

AE is my favorite RC manufacturer by far, but I think they are a bit more cautious releasing new products, whereas Traxxas and Losi uses "shotgun approach" of releasing new products.

The electric SC8 would be the closest thing to it, I think you would be able to convert it before they come out with it, since I'm sure 3rd party manufacturers are already planning on making a conversion for it, just like the 3rd party-created electric conversion kits for the RC8.

The SC8 att $700 street price, it should be called $C8

I like the layout of Caster's 1/8 electrics and Castle's 1/8 conversions which keeps a fiarly symmetrical layout with batteries on the pods on each side, and motor as close to centerline as practical. Hope AE's conversion kit for the SC8 will be similar to those configurations. I don't like the layout of the Losi electric 1/8 offerings.

im not into the whole electric 1/8 but I think the tekno conversion kits look the best . not just a electric motor thrown at a buggy or truggy and call it a day . lots of testing there
