Does any other company besides Novak make sensored systems for 1/8 scale?

go with a MM and a neu 1512 2.5d, it is a great combo, the wait on the monster will be a while, you could also try the losi electronics they seem to do well, not as powerful as the nue's but still plenty of power!

Are sensored motors not as important in 8th scale buggies because non-sensored 8th motors are bigger than 10th scale thus smoother starting?

I don't know of any, so I don't think there is.

Badassrevo, what are your thoughts on using a 2d with 4s instead of a 2.5d. Isn't it good to have that extra RPM and when you do not need it one can always tone it down through gearing? Making it behave like a 2d knowing that you have that extra power when needed?

The 2d is good, but the 2.5 is still faster than a Vspec and you can make 20 min on most tracks. I like the efficiency of th2 2.5 if I need more I can run 5s.

From what I heard at the iHobby expo last week, the newest version of the Mamba Monster shouldn't be far away. According to the head tech it is complete, and they are just waiting for his arrival to give it a final test and stamp of approval.

However I do agree with the Mamba Max recommendations above. It really is solid on a 4s setup.
