It is not a XXX-S, but years ago Losi made a Rally Weapon version of their Street Weapon. You may want to take a look around the web to see if you can find one.

It had to be around 2000-2001--maybe earlier? It was XX-4/Street Weapon based. I think they are very cool.

98 or 99. I don't recall exactly when. I know it was towards the end of last century.

I can't remember how many kits I had back in the day I should have bought 2 of, and put one away.

6000 RC10, Losi JRx2, Schumacher Top Cat, list goes on....

I did a XXX-S rally conversion patterned after the Sixfoottiger article. Here's a pic of the finished product:

I used HPI Sport shocks, a long set in the rear (softer red HPI spring) and a shorter set in the front (softer AE TC3 green rally spring). I also added a XXX-4 body as an inner shell, with some custom foam seals to keep out all the gunk. It has Tamiya rallyblock tires and a 200mm HPI Focus body, which I custom airbrushed and decaled. I think it turned out pretty good.

Unfortunately, right about the time I had the thing perfected and ready for racing, the local rally scene totally dried up. I never even got a chance to run that sweet new body. It just collects dust in my basement as a static model now. I really should get around to selling it so someone can put it to good use.

Here's a link to a fairly active rally thread:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/singapor...-rc-rally.html

It has lots of useful information about RC rally in general.

Also, have you seen this?

Oh, by the way, I don't think the slipper clutch is really necessary. It might be nice for tuning, but otherwise, mine ran just fine without one.

Lastly, make sure you are running the soft front bumper plate and not the hard part. The hard one shatters easily. I broke 2 before I finally got smart and bought the soft one instead.
