Voltage is not my concern, I was just thinking to get the Novak HV system so if/when I get a 8th scale buggy, I can just move it from my current 10th scale buggy.

Do they make anything other than 32 pitch gears for the 5mm shaft on these motors ? Also will the motor mounts line up?

There are 48 pitch gears available for a 5mm shaft.

As for the high voltage thing,
1. I would just get a low kV motor or
2. run a normal kV motor at 7.2V or 2S.

Actually you can run a HV system off 7.2 volts with no problems . The ESC is kinda to big to fit on most 4wd buggies though .

You would likely have to run a standard 540 size motor since I highly doubt that any 4wd 1/10th scales will have room for the HV motor. Plus as mentioned above that ESC is quite large.

If you really want an ESC that you can run in a 1/10th scale that you can then put in an 1/8th just get yourself a Mamba Max.

I have a HV4.5 motor in my TC3 Truggy. I'm using it with my Hobbywing Xerun 120A ESC. It's a nice set up and it have tons of torque.

I have a Xray XB8 converted to the Novak HV system, I also have a Lazer SP 10th scale and no way would the HV electronics and motor fit not to mention the 5MM shaft problems.

I put one in a stampede with 12 cells just to see what it would do. It was just crazy useless power.
