Orion batteries

Is it better to get the 3800 30c lipo for racing or the 5000 20c? My question really is 30c and a little less compacity battery or high compacity and 20c. Also, what is a rough estimate of runtime i would get when running a stock motor.

I pressume you are talking about the orion? a guy at my club did a 6 minute discharge test and the performance is not that good compare to the reedy 5000 20c and the best is a 3800 28c interlect

You dont discharge lipos..

I would say get the Orion 3800mah if you are going to run it in a sedan for clearance reasons.. But if your running it an electric monster truck, buggy or truck and you dont mind the size... get the 5000 Orion Platinum #2 edition...

I personaly got 3 Orion 3800's to run offroad electric with cause Im into the carbon fiber looks and better 30C rating...

I run Orion 3600s and my buddy just got 3 of the Orion 3800s , We get around 20 or so mins depends on how hard we push the cars . Orion's are real good . IMO

I have an Orion 3600 [25C] and a 3800[30C] . Both perform great and you can see a big difference in the C rating . I highly recommend Orions to anyone .

A 6 minute discharge test is a dangerous move and not an accurate way to compare lipos .

With the 3800 and my truck with a 10.5 brushless I get almost 35 minutes of runtime . I tried a Reedy 20C pack and it had no near the punch either of my Orion packs have . It performed like my Maxamps 6000 pack which had barely any punch .

I have the new Orion 3800 30c and the Reedy 5000 20c and I don't notice a difference in performance. The reedy will run longer but the Orion will be more durable.

I got around 15 minutes with my Orion 3800 with a 19T motor. I'm sure it could go a little longer but I didn't want to chance it since I didn't have a cutoff. I just got the 3800 and I really like it, it looks cool with the carbon fiber look too.
