Ive only had an M11 and it works good. Some options are overkill for me but im sure some use em. I got mine brand new for $280 from Hobby People.

I have an M11 2.4 Ghz DSSS, and it's working great. Only downside is the weight... So I was thinking of swapping it for a DX3R because they're so light. But then I heard of all the binding issues and all that crap.. I've never had any binding issues with my M11 DSSS. So now I think I'ma keep it and buy a lipo-battery for it instead.

The dx3r does not have a backlight display as far as i know and with the m11 you can choose between blue or white backlight displays. I have an M11 and love it, it is a bit heavy but they feel really good with a lipo in them, some people told me the lipo made the radio feel top heavy but i held my friends with a lipo in it and it felt really nice. Downfalls for the m11 with 2.4ghz dsss is the recievers are a $100 but i havent had any binding issues with mine so i cant complain.

sounds dumb, but i go by what feels better in my hand. doesnt matter how 'great' the radio is, if its not comfortable than its no good even in shorter elec races. get to a shop and hold em all to see what works for ya. good luck

I would agree with you there, when I first got into r/c radio I loved my jr xs3 pro, but then I wanted to get spektum, and tried many, but finally got an m8 and had it ever since.

I have had both radios. The M11 is packed with more features than most racers can use and I did like the backlight feature as it makes it a bit easier to read.

The DX3R is lighter and is to me the easiest highend radio to program. Don't get any easier to use than this radio IMO.

For me I swithched from the M11 to the DX3R and ran faster lap times for whatever reason. Only change was the DX3R receiver as I used the same servo, speedo, motor combo, and car setup but was continually faster with the DX3R as it felt like the car steered better and accelerated faster. The laptimes showed I was up to 3 tenths faster a lap. Could be the DX3R just felt better for me so I might of pushed harder but not 100% sure on the reason but thats what happened for me.

The DX3R has one advantage that I can see is you can use any Spektrum receiver with it while the M11 has to use the Airtronics 4 channel 2.4 receiver. You are limited to this one receiver only. If you already have Spektrum you can use you older receivers.

the m11 is a nice radio.. just put a lipo pack in it and that will save you a little weight!

small changes in weight from 8 to the 11. more features and backlight on m11. lipo setup is easy on 11. 8 of course is out of production.
