The Plex is was purpose built to house these kind of events.

Plus, June 18th isn't the middle of summer. One of the reasons I wanted to hold the event in June was to miss the stupid heat and humidity of July and August.
Thanks for the info, the facility seems legit. What is the surrounding area like?

We're in Northwest Omaha, basically out in suburbia.

The airport is 15-minutes away. Hotels are down the street. Legends bar and grill is across the street.

There's some more info at last years carpet nats website. www.2008roarnats.com

We'll be doing another website just for this race, too.

After being their for the carpet nats I've been wanting to come back. Great place. They know how to put on a race.

Our track isn't super smooth, but it isn't rough either.

We have a big track. 180x80. Lap times are around 30-40 seconds depending on what I choose for a layout.

It's going to be an all new layout, with no one running on it for about a week before the nats. I'll be using a steam roller to pack the track, and will water and pack a lot before the race.

Our track grooves up, but there is always a little loose stuff around.

I don't think you'll see taper pins for this race.

I use ifmar pins or bowties, and ifmar studs work awesome.

As for car setup, I haven't changed a whole lot on my xxxcr from stock setup, just a little weight on the front and some camber link changes here and there.

Honestly,we all may be in the dark a little bit with no gas stuff to tear it up during the day.

Hopefully not too far in the dark, the stock and super stock spec tires will have to be chosen well before the race. I hope you get a chance to run the track without gas stuff so the appropriate tire can be picked. Would hate for everyone to show up and find out the chosen tire doesn't work.

Screw Legends! It's worth the 10 mile drive to go to Lazlo's. They've got some of the best micro-brews ever. Plus the food and service is top notch.

However you might wanna shower before going.

To be fair....Legends is pretty good too.

What I meant by in the dark was car setup, not tires. I know my dirt and already have a good handle on what the stated tires will be. I'll choose tires that'll work well, but also last.

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know what you were doing. I'm glad you already know what tire will be best, one less thing to worry about. My son and I are looking forward to this race, have heard alot of good things about your facility.
