John, it's unfortunate that you've posted such a long post when I've been talking to you for over 5 days now. So you've gotten help and support from me already.

To be quite honest I don't like the cap setup that you're running with the speedo. If you're having some thermal issues 2 of our caps is what's reccomended. I'm not pointing fingers mind you, rather suggesting what is known to work best with our systems.

Also I still have questions as to what has happened since the power stopped? Did you upgrade the software and now it's dead? Did it work one run and after swapping packs it no longer works?

Randy...when you say to put two caps on are you referring to the caps that come with the esc? I'm using one of the Tekin 16V 1000uF caps on my rs pro to help with the heat. Should i stay with 1 or go up?

I like to see two of the silver caps on a car that is having heat issues. However 2 of the 1000uf G11 caps works pretty good as well.

I tested a lot of caps and almost always go with the silver ones.

Randy,
If you noticed, I intentionally left out details in my initial query to the long delay i was experiencing with getting a response from your support team, and have been very transparent regarding our email exchanges and with the fact that I received an email from Ty this morning.
The only reason why I posted the details was because Krio asked for them, and rather than typing everything again, I just cut an pasted the original email to Tekin Support.

EDIT: After re-reading my post, it came across as being a little aggressive. This was not my intention.
Randy, I would be more than happy to continue this conversation via email.

Regards,
John

Ok guys I have tried this suggested setup and the performance is far less than I was getting before and the motor is getting much hotter. I am starting to think either I have a dud motor or I am already getting the best I can get out of the redline 17.5t. I have taken drag brake off to eliminate that and checked my whole drivetrain to make sure nothing is binding. I put in my totally flogged 1yr+ old novak with the same setup and the temp was around 10 degrees c less and the motor performed the same as the tekin but had no drop in performance over 70-75c. So i believe it is the motor and not anything else. I am going to go back to v198 firmware as it generates less motor temp and the v200 turbo function really isnt working for me.

If you've repeatedly hit 95+ deg C I would look consider swapping out the rotor for a fresh one.

Hey Guy, I noticed in the post you quoted for this one that you're geared at 33/72. Can I ask what thats in? Also, whats the size of track you're running on?

Well, I think I am gonna go bite the bullet at the LHS for a 2000kv Truggy kit. Although running 5s or 6s with a 1350 kv or 1500 kv motor sounds interesting. I am worried aout the extra weight of the battery and overall reliability of the 6s,also I'm sure it takes longer to charge packs too. But not leaving for a few hrs if anyone would like to talk me out of the 2000kv on 4s setup, I am all ears!! Thanks

I like the 2000kv/4s setup personally. I say go for it!

The rx8 already has caps inside. Also, the 3522 is only rated at 16 volts and is not capable of 4s.
