I like this, would work for all brushless classes, including the 1/10 classes. Sorry nitro guy's, but i do not see long mains as being efficient, Why stand out on the track and be a target for 30 to 50 minutes, when it can be done in 10 to 20 minutes.

+1 I think that this standard format for ALL classes nitro and electric would really be a benifit to the hobby.

your right, you usually know by 5 mins who is winning anyway, whats the point of putting the extra strain on everything?

5 minute races are as old as the hills....with today's technology (brushless+LiPo) it is possible to run the times mentioned without any strain whatsoever on the equipment. My 5000 mAh LiPo equipped e-RC8 weighs the same as an RTR Nitro RC8. The handling is VERY nimble and quick to react to inputs from the driver.

I have run for even longer than 15 minutes with my 8th scale buggy and the temperatures remained constantly within a normal range.

The amount of time we as racers spend preparing for these races (in the pits at home) combined with travel time to/from the track, practice, etc.... it seems disproportional to the track time we experience on race day.
