The best Robinson pinions for offroad use are the "Absolute" series, which are made of hardened steel. These will last 3 or 4 times longer (or maybe even more) than their other lines of pinion gears

I normally store my pinions in a molded RPM pinion case.. and I always store them with a light coating of WD40 to prevent rusting.

I'll be trying the Losi pinions or possibly the Robinson Absolute pinons.
