I need 1/8 electric sportsman. when will you decide if you are running 1/8 electric? I think you should just run them with nitros.

10.5 4wd class would be nice, gives the not so good drivers a chance to race a 4wd faster then stock speeds.

13.5 4wd would just be retarded slow. Wont be able to make the bigger quads/triples where they were designed for mod classes.

The 8th scale electric class was a hit last year.
Actually, that is what helped me make my decision to buy one.
Hopefully, this class will be included again for 2009.

Chet, I'm not sure which shop told you that, but I'm pretty sure we put flyers out at all the local shops, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't know about the race?? And the race has only been going on for 21 years.

Are you guys coming back this year?

I know the group I went with broke a stupid amount of parts. I think I went through 4 T-plates, a bunch of arms, and I even busted a T4 chassis in two pieces. I don't think the hobby shops didn't stock up, I just think the triple caused everyone to go through their spare parts in the first day of practice.

Sorry.... I know, I mentioned the t word.

while id much rather see a 10.5 4wd class, i believe a slash class would benefit crcrc much more.

keep it box stock, with rules similar to the rc pro series which are;

The rules are: Box Stock with the following exceptions.
Any 6 cell NIMH or 2 cell Lipo battery
Radio system may be changed.
Shock caps may be changed to the aluminum TRAXXAS option.
18 tooth pinion will be required. May substitute another brand pinion for the stock pinion.
Stock gear cover may be changed to another brand.
Bodies accepted will be Traxxas and Proline. No added spoilers, wings or other aerodynamic aids.

also here is another good set of slash rules;

Rules for the Ready To Race - Spec. Class
This Class is basically for the Ready-To-Race Version of the Vehicle as shipped by Traxxas. The idea is to limit the amount of hop-ups or modifications to the factory supplied vehicle.

Body: All trucks must use the Traxxas Slash body.

Chassis: No modifications may be made to the chassis system. Vehicle must be raced in itís stock form. Original Traxxas Replacement parts only, as supplied on original truck , for damaged/worn parts.

Suspension: Both the front & the rear suspension systems must remain in stock form. Original Traxxas parts only. No aftermarket/Hopup replacement components may be installed.

Legal Tuning Parts Ė Original Traxxas Shock Springs may be used
Shock Cap may be replaced with Alum Shock Cap #2667
Original Traxxas Turnbuckles maybe used 3139X, 3139A, 3737, 3737A

Steering: No modifications may be made to the steering system. Original Kit parts only. You may install any servo saver or servo drive-horn that you so choose.

Bearings: Any manufacturer Bearing may be used.

Electronics: Original RTR Kit electronics Speed Control (XL-5) & Servo (2075) only. You may install any Receiver you so choose. On board traction/drift device or Gyroís NOT permitted

Motor: This class is restricted to a stock Traxxas Titan 12T R/C motor.

Battery: This class is limited to any 1 - 7.2 voltĒ NicadĒ , ďNimhĒ made up of 6 ďSubCĒ size cells, or 1 - 2S 7.4 Volt Lipo battery pack

Wheels: Original Traxxas Slash 2.2Ē wheel

Tires: Original Traxxas 2.2Ē Slash Tire

Drive line: Only the original Traxxas Drive Train may be used. No aftermarket or Hopup replacement drive components may be installed. Traxxas Steel Planetary Gear Differential Only. Any of the 3 Traxxas spur gears (4683, 4686, or 8690) are permitted. Any pinion gear that mounts without modifications needed may be used.

Ball Differentials are NOT permitted in the Spec Class

ok Iíll bite, just my 2 cents, but those rules seem more appropriate to a club race than a huge event like this. Itís a major investment and commitment for anyone non local to even attend this race, really not a starter or budget race it seems to me. Donít take this the wrong way, Iím not anti Slash at all, I do think they are cool. But this is a pretty serious race event for many I think.

I agree with this guy. I love my Slash, but they have no place at a race of this caliber IMHO.
