Default ESC Soldering question

I have a novak gtx esc and I just converted from Deans plugs on the motor/esc to direct soldering. 1st I should gain minimal power difference barely noticeable right? I notice alot of the racers do it. I still have Deans on my battery. But from the esc the wire that goes to the motor is blue. That is negative right? And the other one of red +. So I had black - and red + Deans 12 wire which is the same wire on the esc. Only thing is since the blue - is soldered onto black -, do I need to get all blue wires or all black wires or can I use what I have? I know they are both negative, I just want to be safe. thanks.

heres the manual:
http://teamnovak.com/download/instru...fs/GTX_ins.pdf

red wire goes to + on motor, you need to splice a wire to it and also run it to the + on the battery
black - on the battery
blue wire goes to - on the motor.

You will not notice a power loss with the deans, I wish I had some, get sick of soldering all the time, the bullet connertors work well to.

ok, thanks. You say blue wire goes on - motor. Blue wire isnt long enough though so I soldered black on the blue. Will that work?

yep blue goes to the motor, I would just solder a new wire to the esc instead of patching, makes for a cleaner look and one less connection to come apart and ark something.

So I will be ok with what I did? I think I got a good connection with my new best friend, FLUX!!!! It feels like the solder sticks to the wire with this.
