Correct me if I am wrong but the e losi is the ver. 1 buggy and the diffs were never upgraded by Losi therefore they still need the HD inserts. The ver2 has been "fixed" in regards the diff cases.

Not sure who's fact checking that article but that's the original 8ight-E. It's been out for awhile, and it comes with a 2100Kv motor, not the 1300Kv. The new 8ight-E 2.0 will be shown at the Nurnburg R/C show on 5 Feb.

When did the running change start? I did not know that they had a running change on the diffs.

Honestly I just think they had a bad batch of diffs early last year, I ran my original 8ight diffs for over a year and never had any problems. Everything should be fine now with the stock diffs in either versions of the car

Default Smart diffs anyone???

I guess i'll try them. I hope they make a huge difference in the handling. Let me know how they work if anyone has tried them.

I noticed a lot of people have problems with the factory ESC that comes with the kit. Would it make more sense and save me a few headaches to just spend a more money to get the race roller, conversion kit, and CC Monster 2200kv? By the time I pick this car up, I should also have a Spektrum DX3S.
Hopefully within that time a the main issues would have been adressed-or cheaper solutions have come up. My LHS currently has the "Limited Edition" 8ight-E race roller for $700.00

I'm hoping to make it out to OCRC this Friday and Saturday to test out my Slash and was hoping to see a few 8ight's and ask some questions.

Buy the competition kit and the mmm combo. The 8 on ebay (nib) can be bought for 329.00 and the combo for approx 279.00 way ahead of the game and a better system.

Looks good. One tip... Support the motor wires as much as you can to keep them from moving. If the wires bend to many times the strands inside them start to break and then the motor will overheat. This is probably the most frequent cause for motor failure and keeping the wires from moving around and vibrating while you are driving will save you alot of headache in the long run.

Other than that it looks great. Looking forward to seeing you out at Leisure Hours with it.

Ok, so maybe I can ziptie them off to the rear brace. The switch is there temporarily as Im going to extend it and put it in the radio tray in its normal spot after I see how it runs. Any other ideas how to support them?

I just checked them and they are pretty stiff in this setup. I will maybe make like a pipe hanger from a chassis screw that will go out to them with a ziptie or rubber hose to support them. Good idea. I hope it runs good out there. The blue wheels I got from mike when I bought it. I have Switch 2.0s for the track on another set of rims. These are my street tires for now. They dont even have any name or words on them. weird.
