BuggyKing,

Did you use thread lock on the set screw? Same thing happened to me several times, but after using a drop of thread lock, hasn't happened since.

I use novak and losi pinions no problems here but I am using
the blue thread lock that comes in the glue stick.

I actually ended up using a tiny dab of red to get mine to hold. Just gotta get it red hot to break free is all.

I've been using the Losi pinions with blue loctite and it works fine. I did have one come loose before I started using some threadlocker so that is definitely recommended. I'll probably start using Novak pinions soon however for the larger set screw. Too easy to strip out the setscrew head with all the torque that is needed to break it loose.

Yeah, just about! Actually, it only took a little love and heat to get it loose, then it just came right on out.

I tried the Novak pinion, but I hated it. It was so gawdoffle noisy, I switched back to the Losi version. I also like the Robinson Racing versions much better:

Novak? If so, typically in the 11-12T range, that is if you still run the stock spur. You may want to give the Kyosho 46T nylon spur a try. It worked best for the local guy running a Novak system.

Generally, the car is fine, we're just working through the bugs in the conversions. Minor details... typical growing pains of any brand new class of RC cars, and even more so with modded cars.

As for gearing, yeah, try a 12T. The local guy that ran Novak stuff recently switched over to the Losi system. If he was gonna do it again, I'd tell him to go with the CC 2200 Kv system.
