Anyone running a tekin 1350kv truggy motor in their losi buggy? Any help with setup/gearing would be appreciated, I can't seem to get it to run cool on a 4000mah 6s.

What esc and settings are u running? What gearing? With a buggy 1400 you should be at 14 teeth. Truggy you can get away with gearing taller and keep temps in check. Maybe 15 or 16 tooth.

I'm running the rx8 with really tame settings, no timing, 50% current limit... I started with a 13t and tried a 12 and 9 to see if that helped. Temps were always about the same, around 170 after less then 5 minutes. It was pretty slow on 9t but I wasn't still wasn't going wide open the whole time.

IMO you are undergeared. Motors run hot when undergeared too. Typical rule of thumb is hot motor cool esc gear up. Hot esc cool motor gear down. Try a 15t.

I will be converting my 8ight to electric. I was wondering if a MMP can handle a tekin 1900kv and 4s? I have a rx8 in my scte and have a MMP spare. Will it work till I get another rx8? Last question is what kind of run time could I expect on 1900kv tekin and 2x 65c 6500 revtech packs.

Lots of people choose the MMP and most are dissatisfied. I will put it this way--more have trouble using the ESC in an 8th scale than those who do not. Obviously, run what you have but I would personally not rely on the ESC on race day.

I run 70% Punch Control and 50% brakes. I am going to try 40% brakes next time I run. I run 0% timing and LOW power start.

my rear diff has be clicking and slipping. if i shim it and replace the plastic our drive cups to alloy will it fix it? so sick of my losi =(

Ok I will get another rx8. Thanks for the info. I'll use the MMP in my sons car. What about my other question what kind of run time on 2x 65c 6500 revtech packs on 1900kv tekin? Making the 2 packs 4s. Trying to find out time on mains at my track. It's a big 1/8 scale track.

Mmpro should be fine. I ran one for a year with no issues. They do have a weak bec which is the cause for most issues people have. An external bec is almost always a must have.

I have the MMP with the losi 1/10 2800 KV in my 8ight and after a 7min main, motor temp is 140 and the MMP is about 110-115keep in mind inside the case is probably 20-30deg warmer. This is using an infared temp gun. I was running it on 3S 5000MAH 40C 12/45, i was able to pull on a 1/10 SCTE running the RX8/4800 combo on the 80ft straight.

+1 Does need a CC BEC though but will handle the 8 with no probs.
I ran one too for a whole year with an external BEC with never an issue.

I guess it is good to state what type of tracks you run. The MMP is not a winner on our large outdoor tracks in CO running 15-min mains. People went through this option 2-years ago in our area. No bueno. We started to give them a try after AE went to market with the SC8e.
