Xcelorin ESC Problem
Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum.
I have a Limited Edition 8ight-E and the settings on the ESC are all set on Default, I was practicing with the Buggy yesterday and it was going fine on 1 Losi 4s Battery and then bout half way through the battery the Buggy just stopped and only made the cogging sound. So I plugged my Friends Losi 2100KV motor into my ESC and it was gogging like mine, then I plugged my motor into my friends 8ight-E ESC (yes he has one to) and the motor worked fine. I plugged the ESC into the computer and the settings where the same as before the ESC stuffed up. There is no burnt smell or the ESC and Motor wasn't hot at all. will updating the ESC work? or can anyone help me fix this problem. Or should I buy another brand of ESC.
Has anyone heard of this problem with Xcelorin 1/8th ESC?
Thanks for any comments.

I haven't had any luck finding a heatsink that fits the 40mm diameter Xcelorin can. Someone mentioned Integy having one earlier in this thread and so I contacted them. They replied that they do not have any heatsinks that fit a 40mm can.
As far as I can tell, the options now are custom fabricate or wait for Losi.. speaking of that.. Losi people - when are these coming out

Slightly miffed!!
I've been trying to get answers from Horizon now for a couple of weeks and so far all I've gotten is an auto reply saying that someone will contact me within 48 hrs. I just want to know if they are even considering a firmware upgrade that will put the Xcelorin on par with Castle's product as far as fixing the cogging and braking issues. The brakes just will not cut the mustard when running with the fast guys. You really need to be able to finesse the car in the air and right now that is impossible. Please, for the love of cheeses, somebody tell me there is an upgrade on the way so I don't have to give up my beautiful system that fits my car like a glove. I'm just about ready to put the ole Mamba Max in my ride until I get a yes or no.

I found a viable option for a heat sink, and it does include one from Integy. The one that sticks up the most has no indication of where it came from and I've never seen one like it before. I was at the track describing my issue about not being able to find a heat sink that would fit. A good friend handed me these two. I had to Zip Tie the tall one on, and the other fit like a glove! Adding them dropped the temps 15 degrees. It was about 40 degrees outside, but the motor never got over 120 after I added the heat sinks. If you look, you can see that the vent on the body over the motor, forces air directly over the heat sinks.

I need the brakes to slow down when I find traffic I'm not saying they aren't strong enough...heck, I have them set at 40% on the esc and they grab like crazy. What I'm complaining about is the feel; they aren't very linear. I wonder if gearing up will help smooth out the brakes (wink wink, shoulda tried the 16 tooth)

I think the Integy heatsink is for a 36mm can. It works perfectly, just is a little tighter fit.
