Ok my Truggy has arrived today from the states
YAY!
Will take some pics tonight and upload tommorow.
So here's the specs.
Losi 8ight T with teckno conversion kit and castle mamaba 2200kv esc and motor. I believe this is capable of running 6s but ill be running 4s for now.
Its in almost brand new condition, 2 scratches on the underneath of chassis and the motor and ESC are brand new.
All it needs is a rx and tx, going to hook it up to my DX3S but need a new rx first.
Cant wait to see what this thing can do!

Ran my 8ight 2.0 with Losi econversion for the first time today and it performed great as expected I run a RX8/T8 1900kv, 4s with a 15 pinion, the only concern I have is it consistently temped at 188* after 10 mins? With this resolved and some minor suspension tweeks it'll be ready to compete. How are you guys managing temps?
timing is down to 1 (the lowest setting)
current limiter is at 60%

DBL15 ill make sure to add into the other thread as well.
I wont be able to run mine for a while as i need to buy a new rx for it, also I dont even know what gearing its got.
might pm the seller and see if the current gearing is ok to use for track work or is it strictly for speed runs?

hmmm to me there is another problem or something not spinning freely mate
can you turn your pinon easy with your fingers ? its not hitting the motor mount is it?
i run the same set up in hotter conditions in Australia and after 15 min my motor only comes off at 150 to 160
whats your current limiter set at as wheel spin create heat

I was playing with the timing setting in my ESC yesterday and was wondering what the safest way to run it is?
I'm running:
MMM/ Tekin 2000kv truggy motor
20% punch control
Geared 15/46
Castle calls their normal timing setting 8*. I backed it off to 0* and it had slightly less punch, but dialing my EPA up 5% (from 65% to 70%) brought it back up to about the same speed it was at before. Now it's smoother and less punchy but might be a little faster overall. After my runs with the two settings temps were similar in the 160* range.
I know the 1/10 guys are all about timing, but are these 1/8 motors best with lower timing or higher timing and then dialing epas to the drivers liking? I'd rather have my gear be reliable than setup for all out power since this thing has way more power than I can use anyway.

Ended up checking out some older threads and it looks like the delta (D) wind motors don't like timing as much as the wye (Y) wind motors do. Also looks like castle motors might like timing a little more than tekin motors? Not 100% sure on that one. My 2000kv tekin is a 2.0 D motor so I'm going to stick with 0* timing on the esc...If anyone would like to confirm/deny/add anything to that I'd appreciate it.
