Also. I think I've got my battery straps wrong. They go completely over my 4s and all the way down to the chassis. Should I cut them to make em shorter or is there a different way???

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to 1/8 scale and I just put together an 8ight with MMM/2200kv combo with a 4S battery. I did a 12 minute main last night and came off the track with a motor temp of 209! I have it geared at 16/45 and I was running only 80% on the throttle EPA (We are running on the 1/10 sized track until they rebuild the 1/8 scale track). I understand these motors can handle heat better than 1/10 scale stuff but I think 209 is a bit excessive. Am I way off with my gearing or are there other tricks to getting my temps down?

i believe 16 is pretty high for a 2200. I believe most run 13-14 with that from what i have read over the past week or so

Looking for a gearing recommendation. 1900kv Tekin with a 48 spur. Super hot weather on a full 1/8th scale track. What pinion should I start with?

Well after 3 weeks finally finished the front diff busting up lol. So main car is down for 10 minute fix of glue and screwing back in the mount .

Also finished building my shelf queen, have about 3 more aluminum parts coming then have to decide whether to Keep it and transfer electronics to it, park it on my work desk, or sell it

What am I missing here? It seems there should be a spacer that goes between the top plate and diff. If I just screw it down it binds up the ackerman bar thingy.

No it won't be ready by this weekend. Still waiting on a couple things. Plus, I still need to rob a bank to order some batteries. If you could look for that spacer and hook me up that would be awesome. Let me know as I have a big order I'm about to put in.
