Default set screw stuck

ok, so i got a used 8ight and im trying to change the pinion back to a 13T ... the set screw is stuck / stripped. I think he got super locktite on it or something.

I tried heating it up but can't get the allen key to grip, anyone have any ideas how to remove the set screw ?

Default too much torque!!

so i have a castle 2200 in my 8ight and its WAY too much.
i am overshooting the triples by 10 feet consistently.
buying a new motor is not an option for me so i need to figure out how to best lower the performance a bit.

i am currently running it at 70% thru castle link.
i am running a 43spur with a 15pinion.

would i be best to drop the % thru castlelink some more?
or get a higher spur? or lower pinion?

appreciate any input.
while it is awesome the air i get out of this buggy.. chassis slapping the flat track every single lap is causing me physical pain.

Damn I want my Losi conversion kit to get here soon, I'm dying to get my buggy on the track with electric power.

nice ride Nick, is that a SD in center or just a HD case? I'm gonna be switching between 5k and SD in center with mine.

Sweet ride! I always suggest to people to use industrial sting velcro on the battery--provides padding and much needed gription!

Put the loops (soft side) on the battery and hooks (prickly side) in the tray. Just an idea . . .

Get a drill close to the size, and drill it out. Then run a tap through the pinion to chase the threads. Good luck.....

If you cant drill it out for some reason....worst case scenario, take a cut off wheel to it....Just make sure Not to Nick the shaft or it could possibly snap under load.

Screw's with a layer the Gel stuff for cushion, I actually hogged out the holes, in the tray to allow the esc to wiggle and compress from big hits....No on the stock screw's...im using a 4-40 cap head...length i would have to get back to you on that.

HD case ...Brushless Beats the snot out of standard losa3500 cases....for pack spacing it really depends on the pack and what your trying to do....Drake recommends the pack UP front to smooth out the steering as its more balanced up front, BUT i feel that having it a little back is beneficial as a Nose dive from 20' and 30mph+ would surely destroy a soft cell if not padded properly.

i have the hooks on the pack and the soft side on the tray..I feel the pack "floats" on the soft stuff.
