I'm converting my 8ight 1.0 to electric and need to know what a good bang for the buck ESC/Motor combo is. I want something that is capable of winning races, but not break the bank.

I'll likely be running 5000+ 4S lipo's.
Motors:

I've so far used the Castle 2200kv, Tekin 1900kv and Tekin 2050kv motors. I think the Tekin 1900kv was the best combination of power and run time for racing. Although, if you are running a huge track, like Revelations raceway, the Castle 2200kv is probably the better choice. You will still need some throttle control though as it is a monster.

ESC's:

I've use the Tekin RX8 and Castle MMM V3. The Tekin will provide smoother power, but the Castle is more reliable and cheaper. I lean a little more to the Castle. Both are good though.

Hope this helps.

So i'm thinking about getting the Mamba Monster 2200KV combo....and 4S 5000 30C Lipos.

Is there anything wrong with this combo? Will it be decent for most offroad tracks?

You might want to consider the new 1800 unless you have a really large track.

No, he got the 8ight 2.0 Nitro car and it has a Losi Electric Conversion kit on it. I'm just trying to figure out the differences (if any) between his car and my 8ight-E 2.0 Race Roller. I thought the shock towers were different between the two cars since the race roller has lightened Shock towers. But other than that, are there any differences?

This is my track....do you think the 1800kv would be better than the 2200kv? Again, using 4S 4500-5000 30C lipos.

I would probably go 2200 on that track. That looks pretty big and open.

I've torn out the back out of every one of my 8 buggy bodies. Wether it was a nitro one, or my E ones. I can't really run the extra piece of plastic because the JC bodies won't allow it. Plus, I'm not really sure how that would help? I've never had a problem with the front but the JC bodies don't have the issues that the Losi bodies do, in that area. I'll try and post a pic of what I am talking about, with my bodies, this weekend if I get a chance. If this point didn't tear out, my bodies would last a year, easy. Might have to mount my new one with velcro only but I don't want it popping off if the chassis flexes a bunch.

Default mamba monster report.

hey guys i used the new update will work on the bigger motors like the 2650.
i tried it with the 1800kv and it limited the motor too much on torque, the 1800kv was too soft on the bottom end. but i need more time to work with it, i won second place last night 1st place was a 2.0 buggy with a tekin r8- 1900kv with a 5400mah 50c lipo geared 15-45. i had a MMM with a 1800kv with a 5400mah 35c lipo geared 13-45, his setup was 1 lap faster than mine. down the straight he was just a hair faster than me, i think it was the 5400mah 50c lipo.

Slot the rear mounting hole, the chassis flexes more in the rear.

His skill might possibly have aided in the lap advantage?

for the body Cracking issue in the front.....Take your steering top plate off....remove the short screw for the body mount and run a 10mm piece of fuel tubing and squish it pretty good with a longer screw and it act's as a flex mount...No more broken body's.
