Yep...sensorless works really well once you get moving.

Like the Tekin guy says all the time, it's not really sensorless, it just senses differently. The higher-wind motors just don't generate enough signal at very low speeds to be sensed effectively. I had a 7700 mamba for a while and it was great. It just won't work well with a 17.5 Novak from a dead stop.

For our regional race coming up, for modified I was thinking about getting a ROAR legal motor and just running it with a sidewinder. For modified I believe the sidewinder should run a sensored motor without issue. My question was would it be illegal?

C_O_Jones - I did see that, but in my case it would be for open mod. As for the previous posts, useless bickering and name calling doesn't do anyone any good, so it was time to take the post off the world-wide public forum. I think ROAR as an organization is heading in the right direction and in the past year has embraced new technology and has enabled better and more affordable ways to compete while keeping things safe and fair for all.

So true. I know I ran the first generation Orion 13.5 with my MM and then my Sidewinder. It worked great...except for the start.
