i would not reccomend it but from what i hear is that as soon as u notice a drop in performance u stop using it. from what i hear though u can buy a lipo cut offfor pretty cheap, i wouldnt think that it would be worth losing a lipo battery when u can get a cut off and be safe. only my opinion

If you always ran your car with the same overall load on the batteries you could probably use a timer to tell you when to stop. That would take some testing and a willingness to stop a little early to ensure some margin of safety. That seems silly, just buy a $25 cutoff module and be done with it.

The car/truck will slow to a crawl. I have ran lipos for 6 years and never had any problems. If you choose to run with out a cut off you will notice the car/truck will slow dramatically and that when you need to STOP!!!!!!!! don't try and make it back to the pits or you do take a chance to hurt the lipo.
Once my truck/Car slows to a crawl I just take it off the track and throw it right back on charge and go again. I do not try to take that far but sometimes you just have to test the limits.
Hope that helps but if you feel uneasy about it just get a cut off and then no worries.

I've run mine with and without a lipo cutoff.
If you pull it off when it begins to slow you will be well within the safe voltage range. DO NOT run it after it slows or you will risk it.
Below 6.5 volts is starting to risk damaging your lipo.
When I throw mine back on the charger after it slows it is usually around 7.0 volts, very safe voltage.

Why would you not want to use a cutoff?

The problem is; is that I own a Slash and the ESC doesn't like LVC's....trust me i've tried them all....So I bought a new Tazer 15T ESC, but I like my XL-5 waterproof one better.....And I'm having some weird problems with my LVC I have now (Common Sense Cellshield)

I don't run one, You just stop driving when the battery dumps.
Not to say its a good idea.....

I have run my LiPo packs on my GTB with cuttoff and a GTX without.. I race and run only as I do in a race.. meaning.. 5-6 mins for a race and 5-6 mins for practice.. I know for sure that I could run 10-15.. so no chance I will hurt my fully charged pack doing so.. I will however at some point get a cutoff for my GTX esc car...
I mostly run brushed motors with my GTX so going longer than a race time would also hurt my motor at race gearing... It is kinda cool to run with my GTB for a full pack..
