Default Car make the driver or driver make the car?

Well this is a question i had for all of you. I had a conversation with some guys the other day regarding this. I told them that a very fast driver can still take a car with older technology and still get great lap times/be competitive. They think that the car makes that much of a difference in regards to driving and lap times. Personally, if your fast then your FAST!! opinions?

+1 fast is fast no mater what you drive. We have a guy at our track that ran an old gold tub RC10 in mod 2wd against good drivers with the B4, RB5 and the XXXCR and he still came in second. There is a point where it goes both ways, you must have good quality old tech. Even Adam Drake could not put a Tamiya Hornet on the podium against the new cars.

The chassis/car makes a bigger difference than most realize.

I think it's a combination of both.

I high tech car wont make a bad driver good, but a good driver can be limited by his car.

i agree,a fast driver will always be fast, but a old car can hold a good driver
back,a great car will not make a bad driver good though, maybe little better..

Neither and both.

Confucius say: The car and driver are one. One cannot perform without the other.

It the driver.

I know of a guy who races a Slash in the Spec class, and he is setup the same as everyone else except for the reciever and batteries. He is a little faster than the rest. Why? Because he hits his lines, he is great at racing.

All cars being equal, it's the driver.

All drivers being equal, it's the car.

The reason it is both is because:

1. the driver causes the car to act and
2. the car causes the driver to act (and react)

It is a closed loop system.
