540 and 550 cans are both the same 36mm diameter, the difference being the length with anything 53mm or shorter being 540 and anything longer being a 550, nearly all 540's will be near the maximum 53mm length so all are close to the same size, 550's however can vary with some being only a little longer then a 540 ( less then 60mm ) while others could be around the 70mm mark. 720 is 40mm diameter and is used for 1/8th scale whereas a 540 is generally 1/12th scale or lighter 1/10th scale while 550 is generally for heavier 1/10th but is used by some people in a lighter 1/8th application

cheers

Most 550 motors have a 5mm motor shaft
Where as 540 size motors have a 3mm shaft
You can us a 5mm shaft 550 motor in 1/8th or 4wd Corr Trucks.

Personally I think that the Titan 12t is just an inconsistent product, I'm a pretty docile driver and I have jade ones that compete with axial 20t motors, and I've had Titans that could bearly push a rustler up a hill. I think the problem with the Titan isn't the concept, it's the production.

Default 1/16 scale receivers

Anybody have a good idea for a waterproof receiver system for a 1/16 scale with Velenion brushless vxl system?

There is no such thing.

If you have a Traxxas then you have a very good water resistant box. If you want more water proof then seal the box it silicone and/or some kind of paint to coat entire box. Keep in mind nothing in RC electronics is ever able to deal with water if not kept dry. Think submarine .......😉

People sometimes fail to realize that one data point doesn't make a trend. That one data point (yours) doesn't mean all the Titan 12T motors are junk, or for that matter, even that the one you destroyed was junk. People come on these forums to complain. The 26 guys at my track that haven't had any problems overwhelm the 3 or 4 that did, but they think it is normal for the motors to last and last so they don't bother posting about them.

It really depends more on how you treat them than anything else. Some guys just destroy stuff no matter what you give them because of the way they treat their equipment.
I don’t know what grown men can’t disagree in peace and respect. Everything doesn’t have to be a pissing contest. I love you level headed mature reply. Lots of people can’t dislike something or even someone without becoming a straight up hater lol. Good job brother!! Hooah

You're replying to a 14 year old comment, and they were right. Sample size is important when talking about failure rates.

New user, old topic, a bit weird (non RC) reaction.... As with many similar situations this guy is not for real.
