Default Tenergy Batteries?

Are these any good? How do they compare against GP and IB? Are IBs any good?

Also, what does it mean when they have a "EU" spec? Do Europeans use different size cells?

tom, one of my buddies bought a few of these thinking he could race with them,NOPE! They are junk. no punch and low average voltages. My 2 year old gp 3300 practice packs were better.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll stick with the GPs. What's the deal with GP batteries? What's the difference between a 3300mAH and their SCH-330? Seems like the SCH has a different wrapping...

You're a good friend. Shame on the resellers of Tenergy for marketing these as "RC Battery"

even tried their 2/3AA cells for our 1/18th micro racing during the winter. 1st set of 6, i built up and their 700mah cells couldnt take but 450. and got much hotter than the KANs. returned em, garbage

Anybody reading this: Please do yourself a favor and avoid buying Tenergy batteries. They are junk and a waste of money. This is not manufacture bashing, this is the cold hard truth folks.

$52 for an off-brand? You could get Promatch 4600 EnerG or similar matched cells for around $40-45 assembled. IMO many of the 4500 rated cells are intended for powertools with intermittent drain, and not the constant high-drain use required for RC.

I really liked the IB3600 and 3800 cells as they had good punch and runtime and were reliable as could be plus they discharged evenly. I did however have one 4200 cell explode. I have some IB4200's with such incredible runtime that after a full season I can still run 2 5-min heats in a 2WD buggy without recharging. I haven't tried their 4600's.

GP cells were really good as 3300's but seem to have stalled at that level.

EU spec means that the cells have met the shorter european length specification of 43mm

How does the GP cells compare against the IB cells?

Here's another consumer warning: SANYO NIMH ARE PURE CRAP. Their discharge rate sucked, and one of my cell died after a few cycling. I've done the same cycling on my GP packs (charge, discharge in RC, equalize when the power "fades" in my RC). Really a let-down since Sanyo was king of NiCd before the NiMH days (all the best NiCd battery packs were Sanyos)...

Also, what are these EnerG cells I've been seeing lately? Are they a rebadged GP or an IB cell?
