Default Shock oil: can you mix petroleum with silicone?

Can you mix petroleum shock oil with silicone shock oil?

i.e. Will there be any bad effects like separation etc?

They will probably separate. Never tried it but I doubt it would work very well. Stick with silicone for shock oil.
